Airbrush Art on Doors:
Another special project by AirbrushMagic.net, Houston, Texas

For this project we are asked to paint a set of glass doors for a town home in the Galleria area. The client wanted to have privacy but still let the light in. At the time we had done a large modernistic, Art Deco canvas mural (below) for the client's foyer in her home. She like the art deco style and asked the artist to come up with an idea for the doors.

Art Deco is the artist's style of choice, so it was a no brainer to come up with something.  The artist did a search in to his memory bank and knew exactly what to do. He had an idea to create a couple of art deco style figures to paint on the doors.

The process by laying out the design on the glass and then use application tape to cut out the design on the frisket to paint. We used oil base enamel paints. The design was simple but very attractive because of the nature of the style. See sample below  - at right.

Owner, proudly stands  in front of the  5 X 6 Ft. Art Deco style airbrushed canvas mural, artist/muralist Ray Gatica painted for her home in Houston, TX.

The canvas mural was not totally airbrushed. Gatica painted the majority with traditional paint brushes. After the main images are painted in he comes in with the airbrush to add highlights, soft shadows, special effects that only the airbrush can provide
